Guide to Bangkok - Self Itinerary
( strongly recommend to use this guide in order it is listed )
1) Grand Palace & Temple of the Emerald Buddha or Wat Phra Kaew
วัดพระแก้ว
coordinates: 13.752387, 100.492642

Entrance fee is 500BTH ( well worth it, don't throw away the ticket that you will get, you can use it later on again in the tour ) I can show you a thousand pictures and videos, but nothing beats being there in the middle of this ancient massive architectural marvel with the finest detail of breath taking beauty. Before you enter the palace there will be people outside offering you to hire them as guide, do it only if you wish, i recommend researching beforehand and seeing and understanding everything on your own, after all You are Your Own Guide.
1a) Almost right across the Grand Place you can visit Peerarsi Art Gallery Museum, there are two huge galleries one with paintings and one with sculptures.
coordinates:
Paintings Gallery: 13.752803, 100.489940
Sculptures Gallery: 13.752744, 100.491051
2) Wat Pho (The Temple of the Reclining Buddha)
วัดโพธิ์
coordinates: 13.746393, 100.491243

Entrance fee is 100BTH. This amazing place is less then 5 minutes walk from the Grand Place. Inside in the main building is a main attraction a huge statue of a reclining Buddha. Next see the four large pillars, these are 4 Buddhist stupas. Also see other buildings on the territory with various Buddhas. In one of the largest buildings will be a sitting Buddha made of pure gold with very beautiful frescoes on the walls. In the same temple you will also find the oldest academy of Thai Massage, this is the best massage you can get in Thailand. When you buy the ticket and enter the temple you will see a sign on the wall “Thai Massage” The massage must be inside the actual temple, you will be offered massage outside, and this is wrong, MASSAGE MUST BE INSIDE THE TEMPLE.
Next when you exit the Wat Pho Temple you should take a short walk to Tha Chang Pier It is approximately 150 meters or 492.126 feet from the temple. If you having trouble show this sign to anyone on the street and they will point you to the right direction:
Pier - ท่าเรือเตียน
From the pier you will need to take the ferry (price 4BTH) across the river to get to the next temple Wat Arun.
3) Wat Arun or The Temple of the Rising Sun
วัดอรุณ
coordinates: 13.746161, 100.490146

Entree Fee 50BTH. The best of attraction is a huge stupa with the heights of 72 meters, but as late as of March 2018 it was still under contraction. So all you get to do is walk around the temple and go up may be as much as 10-20 meters high on the very steep steps. Still definitely worth being there.
After Wat Arun, you need to cross back the river on the same ferry and there you will need a taxi or tuk-tuk to the next place ...my favorite part of Bangkok...
P.S. Taxis and tuk-tuks will be more expensive right next to the pier or temples so i recommend walking a little bit away if you are on the budget, but once again we are talking about a difference in no more then 10$.
3a) Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall (closed on Mondays)
This place has been closed and reopened to the public on multiple occasions.
พระที่นั่งอนันตสมาคร
coordinates: 13.771649, 100.513124
The ticket from Grand Palace will get You inside Anata Samakhom Throne Hall for free.
3b) Vimanmek Mansion Museum Made out of Teak Wood
พิพิธภาณซ์พระที่นั่งวิมานเมฆ
Only 100 meters away from Anata Smakhom Throne Hall many little museums there, but the main one is Vimanmek Mansion.
( Destinations 3a) and 3b) close at 16:00 and last attendees allowed in at 15:30 )
( most of the times next is the second day of the tour if you like spend a lot of time there or just walk slow)
4) Wat Saket or The Temple of the Golden Mountain
ภูเขาทอง
coordinates: 13.753762, 100.506609

Entrance Fee is 20BTH walk the steep steps all the way to the top ring the bells on the way up and see the breath taking views of Bangkok's Old Town.

4a) Near the golden mountain there will be a Pom Maha Kan Fort, and from the fort there is a fortified white wall. Go into the aisles and see the very interesting houses of teak wood, which stand therefor 200 years, and people still live there. This settlement has been preserved there since the very foundation of Bangkok!
coordinates of the settlement: 13.754783, 100.505397
4b) Right across the road from this settlement is a very beautiful Temple - Museum called Loha Prasat and The Temple Wat Ratchanatdaramor in Thai
โลหะปราสาท
coordinates: 13.754804, 100.504230
And if you followed my guide you can finish your day watching the sunset from
Baiyoke Sky Hotel The tallest building in Thailand with stunning views of Bangkok from the 84th floor. Entrance fee is 400BTH and you get a free cocktail from the bar on the 83rd floor, or you can go to the 76th or 78th floor to order a lunch - buffet for 120BTH. But you Must get there before 17:30, in order to have time to see the day, twilight and night, because it gets dark really fast. From Lumphini Park t is a 20 minutes ride by taxi.
Another more adventurous option is to get there by canal boat from Golden Mountain (about 30 minutes ride) walk to this coordinates: 13.755550, 100.506328 and get on the boat, ride the boat to the stop called Pratunam -- coordinates: 13.749174, 100.541458 next you walk to the Baiyoke Sky Hotel coordinates: 13.749174, 100.541458
( P.S. Recent problem with Baiyoke Sky Hotel is the insane amount of Chinese tourists, who are loud, obnoxious, and straight up rude )
Other good recommendations for skyline viewing is Banyan Tree and Millennium Hilton Hotels.
Banyan Tree is close to Lumphini Park only around 20 minute walk, dress code for men no short pants and closed toe shoes, women can have shirt skirts, but to go on roof they will give you a longer skirt. If you take a taxi or tuk-tuk and they don't understand show them this บันยันทรี สาทร
Banyan Tree Hotel coordinates: 13.723099, 100.539860
Millennium Hilton Hotel is a 30 minutes taxi ride from Lumphini Park and pretty much the same conditions as Banyan Tree Hotel. Millennium Hilton Bangkok มิลเลนเนียม ฮิลตัน
coordinates: 13.728576, 100.510345
